If I had truckloads of money...

If I had truckloads of money, I would start buying all the available farm land. I would not sell it for real estate. The land would stay farmable or I would be growing trees or letting it go wild. At the rate this world is going, the farmer fields and woods are disappearing. I think it will be a prized commodity to own farm land in the future. Food does not grow in factories!

Nasty Habits ~ Smoking

People that smoke are GROSS!! It's been interesting that many states are going smoke free. I love eating at restaurants that are smoke free. It was great hanging out in Colorado bars that were smoke free. All the smokers had to go outside. Smokers could save money if they quit smoking. I enjoy that Indiana has finally gone smoke free except in casino's. They won't get my money because I won't enter an establishment that has smoking. Stand UP for your right to NOT SMOKE!!

Nasty Habits

Smoking creates littering. A discusting habit that non-smokers must witness. A dangerous habit that creates cancer. It smells terrible and nobody wants to eat in a smoker habitat. Smoking causes some people to have a asthmatic attack.

Library Etiquette

Imagine in a library, a quiet place to study, supposedly, there are loud voices, above a whisper even above normal talking volume, echoing through the stacks disturbing the thought process.

Society

Societies Rules

Freedom

People are wrong who believe America is not free. We are free within the confines of protecting ourselves. We are free because we can wear what we want, go where we want, worship our chosen religion; marry whom we want no matter their race, sex, or religion. Americans exist from the world. There is representation from each country...people who wanted a different life than the one that existed for them. They changed their future. Americans learned from the Civil War with the North verses the South, families, and friends divided. There has not been another war on American soil. The only battles are the day-to-day ones where there is a messed up criminal unmastermind. The criminals are too lazy to get themselves a real job. Its not that they cannot go out there, get a job, and keep it but they do not want to work. They want everything to be given to them. The countries that have had war every year of their lives know nothing else. They probably would not know how to survive if something did not blow up every day. People do not need to fight all the time. They do not need to be corrupt. Everybody should get a long because we all live on this planet, there is no other planets yet that we can live on. Cohesiveness is just a dream.

Political

It’s election year. Television shows have programs about voting. MTV’s has shows to promote voting. There is some TV shows and emails that have sublimal messages on who to vote for. My problem with the whole issue is they want me to vote but they do not give me somebody to vote for. The campaign issue is dead. It is all about buying votes. They do not do didley squat for the people. I have my rights to vote or not to vote. An then there are the TV debates which screw up tv programming, where they just show repeats of the shows that have already been viewed or they show the same thing on every station. Who gives a Krap?

Music

Music I have nothing to say on that subject, you either like it or don’t like it. People can listen to whatever they want.

Media

The media seems to run our lives. The media could make up anything they wanted and people would believe it because they would know no better, besides there would be no other way in obtaining the truth. The media could be bought.

Mass Opinion

I do not care what people think, everything is opinion.

Censorship

Discussion of language use on television is inevitable. NASCAR fines Dale Jr. for saying s*** on NBC, when he was all excited, when he won the race. They say worse words all the time on TV. Children know worse words said at home or among friends than from the drivers they might idolize. Now there will be a five second delay on NBC, after showing the race live.

Racing

The problems with the Indy Racing League (IRL). They lack advertising a race. I never know when a race is on TV or what station. I must go look at the web page, which takes forever, and a day to come up. They put too much on the web page. Then when the race is found there is hardly any pre-race stuff and post race stuff is non-existent. They should take lessons from NASCAR about advertising. The smart thing they did was getting rid of Jason Priestly although they could have been smarter and never hired him in the first place. He could not commentate at all. He barely tells the front end of the car from the back. All he could do was repeat what one of the other commentators had just talked about. They were probably trying to bring a younger generation into the IRL. They DO NOT need wannabe actors/commentator/race drivers. The drivers themselves who are good-looking bring in the young generation just fine. They do not have to be good looking, they just need to be able to kick butt when driving a racecar. They have an abundance of advertisements during a race. Kenny Brack commented on that very fact during the race February 29, 2004, while he was on the phone with the commentators. They could take another lesson from NASCAR, when something exciting happens cut back to the race immediately. DO NOT wait until commercials are over. Another issues is blocking out the live race of the Indy 500 in Indianapolis. I realize why it is done but it is just plain stupid. I do not always have the fundage to go to the race. It is stupider to show the race late that night when it is not going to be watched because I would have already learned who won it. Another thing is that each car should be required to be different colors. It is freaking too hard to tell the difference between Castroneves and Hornish’s cars. You cannot see the numbers when they are whizzing past. By the way, I do not like Penske, I do not like Marlboro, and I do not like Honda. I cheer only for Sam Hornish Jr.

Art

Art is another issue on how you interpret it. How do we know that when art historians write about a picture that is how the artist wants it interpreted? The artist could have a very different idea or maybe they just did the piece of art and it has no meaning. There was no intention set forth. The painting more or less resulted from their personal life. They did not know how to express it any other way so they did it by painting or drawing, basically by making a picture of it. (Rene Magritte, “Psychoanalysis…is only one interpretation among others. It gives a symbolic value to the things chosen by the artist. I believe however that a cloud and nothing more. I do not believe in the subconscious, nor do I believe that the world presents itself to us a dream, except when we are asleep.” “ What we can see in a painted picture that fascinates us loses its charm when we meet in reality that which we see in the picture. And vice versa. What we like in reality when represented in a picture a matter of indifference to us – if we do not confuse the Real and the Surreal, and the Surreal with the Subreal.” “ It is not my intention to make anything comprehensible. I am of the opinion that there are sufficient paintings, which one understands after a shorter or longer delay, & that therefore some incomprehensible painting would now be welcome. I am at pains to deliver such, as far as possible.” Chagall said of his paintings, “I don’t understand them at all. They are not literature. They are only pictorial arrangements of images that obsess me… The theories which I would make up to explain myself and those which others elaborate in connection with my work are nonsense…. My paintings are my reason for existence, my life, and that’s all” (p. 165 Modern Art Sam Hunter, John Jacobus, Daniel Wheeler, 3rd Ed.)

Religion

The Bible is how you interpret it. There is no possible reason for believing everything in the Bible. To fully understand the Bible it would have to be read in it is original language, Hebrew. The Bible is very old and has been copied by hand many times. There are also different versions of the Bible out there.

History

History is how you interpret it. Everything has sides. People tell different stories. When you are young, you are told to learn your history so that history will not repeat itself but the inevitable always happens.

Museum

Museums cannot display everything. They take on sides or issues and will end up in the end still offending somebody. It is in human nature not to like everything. People just need to learn to deal and continue to better develop themselves. People just have to take the bad with the good. There is beauty in everything if you look deep enough or from a different perspective. Look outside that box. Road Rage

☺ A new concept is using a turn signal when driving. The turn signal is used when a person wants to make a turn or switch lanes. When wanting to make a turn one should put their turn signal on then begin the breaking process, not the other way around.
☺ Another concept is the pedal on the right is the gas pedal that means accelerate or GO, when the light turns green.
☺ Suicide lanes, use them, they could be your friends. Be considerate of other people. It means get your car all the way in the one lane...not hanging out between two lanes.

Lost Experience

It has been very interesting to watch the 'Lost Experience' unfold. All the people working together from their various countries to solve a mystery from a television show. I guess everybody likes a good mystery. I know I do. Maybe we need to get all the foreign leaders to sit down at a computer and get them to solve their countries problems. I remember when Alias did a similar type mystery...but that didn't last too long. The 'Lost Experience' mystery involves advertising for Sprite, Jeep, Verizon, & etc... A new approach to reach their audience base. The websites are probably enjoying the extra traffic that the game is providing to Monster.com, blogger.com, yahoo.com, & etc.... Then you have the Hanso Supporters versus Anti-Hanso's creating theories after theories that the Lost writers could use. Hmmm.... I do know that if I ever get caught in a conspiracy plot...then I'll just use the Internet for help.

Academic Sense

These are my opinions as I see them, read them, watch them, and observe them. It is just a way to express them calmly and get them off my chest. I raise issues that need to be raised and other things I must discuss which are ridiculous but the fact is they have been discussed and it is just my opinion on them. Written over an extended period of time, by what right should I be doing this? If I did not see constant stupidity on a daily basis, I would not be writing this. I suppose I am doing a good thing writing this instead of wreaking havoc. I write for me, not for you, so you do not have to read.
